It would not be easy to cut it open, hollow it out, and weld it back up, and get all the mounting tabs squarely back in place where they need to be. But I am sure it *could* be done. When the throttle is close to the floor or the rpm is over 3k the EGR stops interfering and acts like it isn't there. It helps with emissions when cruising or idling. First of all, if you've bought a car that was $70k new and now you're "on a budget", just sell it and buy a Honda or something thats cheap. That sounds more in line with your needs in life right now.
