The train ride up to the summit is spectacular in terms of views and engineering. The whole operation has been updated and re-opened I think in 2021 with modern carriages and brand new track which makes for a comfortable ride. Save. We plan to visit Pike's Peak on August 1st. I am looking at getting tickets on the Cog Railway. There is a $10 difference between getting reserved tickets where we get to pick our seats vs. standard seats where we may not get to sit together.
