I 2a’d raoq first for necro then Kro for rift beasts and giants and those two + twins let me consistently farm beasts. Most of my runes I got from drops not crafting though. When it does fail the reason is more about missing def break and not enough damage, like most of the problems in a failing regular tricaru Verde team, rather than the 1* being the issue.

Tricaru does do dungeons a little faster, but the cost for that speed is dedicating about 1 month of your dhole energy, 3 extra 6 stars, and farming a specific set of runes to make it work, which may or may not be a fair trade for everyone. The way I see it, you may get more determination runes just by farming rifts to get tricaru running sooner, but at the same time as farming guard runes, you're also farming violent runes, shield runes, and focus runes. I would love to build a tricaru team, but to do so I would need some better guard runes, for which I would need to run db12. This is currently the only team I've got that kinda works (still need to 6 star my lantern, so he keeps dying a bit more often than necessary). Tricaru is fairly easy to build i built on a few alts, even with lvl 4 defense towrr , use a set of determination runes on each tricaru , do a slot 1 on each then slot 2/4/6 six star def% (may take like a week or two of farming rift dungeon to craft determination runes, could even get 1 from event)I made good progress in those 2 months but man did it get tiring. I have 0 determination runes and my team works. If you can farm DB12 with a slow team with Elsharion to get 6* star guard runes you can do it. I didn't even farm those for tricaru runes, I just kept every rune with def% sub and rolled them.

Fortunately, Rift Beasts are guranteed "successes" every time even if you die, and Determination runes are more valuable than Guard Runes for hitting Defense breakpoints for Tricaru. So if you're struggling to build it, know DB12 isn't an option, you can grind rift beasts and then use the crafting materials to craft Determination sets.Pretty sure the free crystals are not enough to built and rune up all this stuff, especially farming tricaru runes takes alot effort. The only chance for a Tricaru team to fail, once runed correctly, is to miss the def break for multiple rounds! So once you have the correct runes you should perhaps fail 1 run in 100000. Unless you have Determination runes with 63% DEF main stat, it only makes sense (to me) to put ONE set (2 runes) on odd slots of each Icaru. A total of 3 sets. Highest def is from 63% DEF main stat on all three of slots 2,4,6. May also need Guard runes, and/or substats with multiple rolls into DEF % or flat DEF, and grindstones.Finished Tricaru DB12 with Lv1 Def tower! it wont die first because the only way it would die is for the enemy to attack, and if the enemy attacks it means your teams already had a few team ups, which means ur teamup order is already fucked cuz the 1 star unit is there, which means even after teh 1 star unit dies, ur team ups are still fucked and then if the enemy takes a turn and armor breaks a tricaru then its gg.Only problem I see is when the boss hits and the gargoyle goes below 70% so he doesn't transform anymore. Could be alleviated with a bit of tankiness. Statue form reduces incoming damage further by 30%. What's really nice is it makes the rune requirements for this team much lower.
