The best advice anyone can give is to simply try out different builds. Respeccing is so cheap in this game that it's practically free, so don't be afraid to do it. I personally play a Controller/ Assassin build and with Mind Games, a good SMG or Shotgun, and a Phasewalk cooldown of next to nothing, Lilith rapes things.
