I was told it also counts speed, so if you don't do it fast enough you don't complete it technically. There's a separate triumph for time trials in which speed is a factor. For obtaining secret victories emblem, you only need to complete all 6 ascendant challenges. When I was doing it for Wayfarer, I also got stuck at 5/6.
