T7 Custom Patch is good if you just want to play regular BO3 or BO3 with friends with some improvements. Zombies is still playable with t7 patch made by shiversoftdev. Don't forget to set up a network password, so only can those join you, who have the password. That way cheaters can't get to you, since you're not connected to the official servers. Other than that, unfortunately BO3 is officially dead, until we don't see a plutonium version of it.

Hi I'm ALEXS557 an Xbox ambassador, not employed by Microsoft or Xbox. Only way I can think of to fix this issue would be to redownload the game as this should install the latest version of the game. I know the post is old but as some people seem to still have the problem I hope this helps.
