I started with Paladin a few levels mainly wanting to go the Bard route, but wanted Heavy Armor, so I went 2 levels Pally, and then have transitioned to Bard, and so far have reached level 5.

My argument has been, in short, that the extra mobility and combat control given by strength through the jump and shove actions outweigh the initiative, stealth, and melee/ranged flexibility of dexterity.
