The P is a great duty size carry and range gun. And will shoot softer than a C or C2. The XC ($4300) model is constantly rated as most peoples favorite gun. It's a light recoiling flat shooter. But is more of a range/competition gun than a carry gun. Watch and Pray.

Having said that, I have exactly zero issues with my P from day one, and it eats anything I feed it!!!
