Tx22 vs p322.
The tx22 is a fantastic option for the price. I've got big hands and it fits me a lot better then a lot of other .22's on the market. Trigger is surprisingly good. Comes factory with a threaded barrel. I don't own an sr22 but I have shot a few. They were a little too small for me but shot great.
So I am in a compliant state (non threaded barrel and 10rd cap). Really want the P322, but Sig is not making it for restricted states and no immediate plan to. If I have a local shop pin the barrel and block the mag, I will have no valid warranty from Sig on the P322. If I go the TX22 route (non-competition version) it will not be optic ready. The P322 is finicky to load, but load it right and it runs like a clock. Personally I'll take 16 easy to load rounds over 20 finicky to load any day. Accuracy wise, with my guns I have to give a slight nod to the Sig even with an inch shorter barrel than my TX22 Comp. Totally different feel due to the grip shape, size, and weight difference, but I like them both. The main difference to me, is the P322 is more accurate. Threaded barrel, optics ready and a magazine... my experience with my new SIG P322. Downside of .22 pistols, they are so dang picky about ammo. I've got a Ruger Mark IV and a Walther PPK-S. The Ruger won't run anything but CCI and the Walther will shoot anything but CCI! Taurus TX22 chugs them all and runs flawlessly. The P322 has a rectangular steel insert that houses the firing pin, This includes the breech face. It is not user removable. The P322 has been reported to have light strike issues and horrible barrel leading issues over on Sigtalk.
