Oct 26, 2020 · The OEM shifter is noticeably longer than the MGW, plus the OEM shift **** is perched pretty high once installed. And it's funny; now that it's installed and I've put some butt time behind it, it fits perfectly with my 2010 C6 GS Vette platform, and should have come from the factory like THIS for the money they charged folks (10 years ago). Yes it does require an adaptor (sold on their website). Just a note - I purchased the adaptor for the standard C7 shifter, but the MGW shaft is slightly larger in diameter, preventing the adaptor from sliding completely down on the shaft. Result is the **** is currently about 1/2 inch higher than it could be.This MGW knob is designed with a 9/16-18 threaded insert. This means you can only use this knob with a shifter that has a 9/16-18 threaded shaft or if you are using this knob on a MGW shifter you will need to buy the 9/16-18 shaft. New larger diameter gripper ball for a perfect feel and function. I had tried the Hinson shifter but I found the shifts to be so short that I sometime couldn't tell if I was in gear or not.
