Leech Lake Fishing Report for February 13th, 2024. February 15, 2024. Report from the Dock. Most ice-fishing options have temporarily come to an end across the southern part of the state. There’s still plenty of main lake ice, but it’s soft, and the shorelines have pulled away.

Unfortunately, Ice and Snow conditions on the south end of Leech Lake have made all travel unsafe. Slush varies from 6”-24” throughout the area. Additionally, snow levels are 20”-30” deep. New cracks are frequently forming and flooding water onto the ice, probably due to the extreme weight of the snowpack. No travel is advised, of any kind. Leech Lake Buzz Bite Report: 3-8-2023. Ice conditions have been good on Leech lake and the surrounding area. We have been finding twenty to twenty-five inches of ice most places but always check as you go. With the walleye, northern pike and bass seasons now closed anglers have now been focusing on perch, panfish, and eelpout.Leech Lake Report. Walleye activity remains limited with better action late in the day or overnight along the 12- to 18-foot breaks and reefs. During the day, a few walleyes are coming off the deep side of the reefs in 22 to 26 feet. The 18- to 20-foot breaks in Walker Bay are also producing a few walleyes during low-light periods.
