Their UDT and UDT-2 hydraulic fluid is the same situation. Ashland Oil wasn't a household name to me at first, but a little digging will reveal they are actually the parent company of Valvoline.

The oil I drained out looked really good for being almost 8 years old. The thing that caught my attention was the condition of the strainer type filter when I removed it, it was pretty loaded with metal particles. I priced the Kubota oil and it was $15.00/gal. for their UDT, the Super UDT was much more.

Kubota M9540. I went with the gear oil due to flash point and viscosity differences. I didn't compare the UDT as stated in the title, I compared Super UDT and Valvoline 80-90. I found the Suoer UDT flash point at 262 and viscosity >22 mm2/s at 40C. The Valvoline flash point was 424.9 and viscosity 146 mm2/s at 40C.
