2003 Sorento, Water is leaking in the car on the passenger side top front corner. Any ideas as to the problem please? 5 Answers. XS 4wd. Water is found in the top corner of the roof, down the panel to the left of the windowscreen and down into the carpet. This is our first sorento so we would like to know the likely causes.

Found it leaking from the water pump area on the passenger side by where the bottom of the auto tensioner sticks out from the bottom timing belt cover. I removed everything and changed the water pump, timing belt, tensioner and pully (1st timing belt job. Made easy by this forum (Thanks). I used RTV sealant on the water pump gasket.
