Jeep jk running hot.

The JK is still over heating. Coolant is Genuine Mopar Coolant, also. It is NOT consuming any coolant at all, it has not gone down since the last flush. There is coolant pressurizing the hoses and in the radiator. The heater works fine. However, temps are still reaching 240.The 3.6 is designed to run at these temperatures...why does everyone insist that it is too hot? I have a 4inch lift on 35x17 wheels. for about a year my engine has been running really hot. I recently had my head gaskets replaced along with my thermostat my radiator, my hoses, my water pump, my temp sensor, my timing belt,my coils and injectors. My engine is still running hot.On hot days (temps in 90's plus), my Jeep would overheat while driving regardless of speed. Higher speeds didn't help cool it off. In older vehicles that had questionable cooling fans, you could just drive 50-60 and the airflow through radiator was enough to keep your engine happy. Not so in the JK. Particularly if you're running the A/C.

I haven't seen the temperature gage go any higher than the middle. Its really noticeable. I have a 2014 JKUR. My heater is also acting up. I recently got to 240 (with a couple seconds at 244) while towing a heavy trailer uphill on the interstate in 89F weather - 4000 rpm in 3rd at 55 mph. So yeah, 250 isn’t normal.Thread starter. #9. 2012 JKU runs hot at highway speeds. I have a 2012 JK doesn't overheat but runs hotter than normal at highway seeds. Replaced thermostat radiator water pump and new factory fan .. Even bought that funnel system for purging the air. Also checked for exhaust gasses in the fluid. Several time's.

If this solves the overheating problem then there is a block in the heater core. I have a 2013 JKU with 50K miles, engine seams to run hot, temp is around 220F, but at times when I open the hood, the hood prop is extremely hot to the touch and need a glove to use. Took it for an oil change and coolant love was very low; below the low level. No leaks or pools of fluid are ever seen.

Code P0128 does not indicate over temp, just the opposite. It indicates the engine is not reaching operating temperature. From what I can find the 3.6L V-6 takes a 203 degree thermostat. The Mopar part is the housing and thermostat. 2003 Light Khaki TJ Rubicon, Manual, Soft Top.The temp gauge on your dash is just an implied temp, not an actual reading.
