Both can be had in standard or TH stocks and LR configurations. People hype the Bergara branded barrel but they all come out of the same factory in Bergara Spain. The Optima LR is a 28" which is plenty long. The CVA Optima V2 rifle was introduced at the 2013 SHOT Show in Las Vegas. Although it has the same name as previous Optima muzzleloaders and the stock and barrel are essentially the same, the new Optima V2 borrows its action and trigger designs from the top-of-the-line Accura V2 series.The average velocity was 1,748 fps for the 250gr PowerBelts and 1,731 fps for the 290gr T-EZs.The CVA Optima Northwest is very easy to clean. Top that off with 250 gr 45 cal hornady in a crush rib. I use this same bullet in my pistol with less powder and it also shoots very well. From what I read, the Wolf is the entry level CVA inline, and the Optima is the mid level rifle. The Wolf has a slightly shorter barrel and is a little lighter. Good choice in purchasing a Wolf, I own the Optima V2. Even though it states you can use 150 grains, I never found the need to use more than 110 -120 grains. I have shot .430 240 grain XTP, .430 265 FTX, 250 grain SST. They are all accurate, I have only harvested deer with the XTP.
