Now I have natural nails and try to keep them obsessively well cared for to avoid any snag or chip causing me to go back to biting. I was just taking off my gel today and I thought, there’s got to be a better way. I will ask the Laqueristas! I use a coarse nail file to rough up the surface really well, then I cut thin cotton pads into triangles, soak them in Gelish Nail Remover, place a cotton triangle on each nail, then put the little plastic clips on each finger.

Learning to do your own gels with soak-off polish is also a good alternative if you are into DIY, but it requires learning to remove the product safely anyway.That is an interesting perspective. Since you're growing them out I'd also recommend to wear a strengthener (not hardener, which is harsher and can make your nails peel) when you're not wearing nail polish. It protects the nail and help them grow without peeling/chipping/breaking etc. Holo Taco is really good!
