Cu has a dodge, so my usual “dodge is better” complaint is moot. Protection from Arrows is one of the best dodge skills in the game. The dodge can potentially last more than a turn if you’re lucky (and it’s impossible to waste the effect), and it gives a small defense boost on top of that, and all on a normal cooldown.

You don’t need Merlin in order to do well at the game or to complete CQs, and it won’t be hard to find a Merlin on your support list, but his reputation isn’t overblown—he really is just that strong.
