It's most likely the root cause of the AC issue, or a faulty interconnect, -if you're lucky. Check all CUE-related fuses first. Then ensure the steering wheel controls communicate with the CUE.

Replaced it with a new one from cuescreens.com. Touch screen works now, but I'm having the same symptoms with AC not working. I can disconnect the battery and reconnect it and the AC will work again.
