Two way same arcana fusion usually results in the average or the rank below the two. Example: Rank 4 and 5 would result in a Rank 3.

But it's a straight 30% increase to physical damage. Which is really good in and of itself. Will of the sword is 50% damage increase. I built 2 Yoshitsunes, one with Undying Fury and another with Will of the Sword. Both had 99 strength and the one with Undying Fury actually did more damage.
