Heavy hull @ 1600 lbs naked with a 17* deadrise, draft is definately not microskiffish-say 12" loaded. I picked up the Salt Marsh Heron 18 this week and have a similar issue with the top of the 115 motor hitting the poling platform, even with the jackplate fully down. Seems to be able to tilt plenty enough though. Next time around I'll go with your suggestion.
