I'll be shocked if the new Gen 3 barrel and bolt carrier assembly are not backwards compatible with an MCX Vortus3. My 11.5 virtus is around 1500 rds in with zero malfunctions, easily one of my m one my favorite rifles.It seems Sig took not only the savings from the handguard (which now requires it to be fastened to the upper) but also the barrel. I’m a fan of the heavier and more rigid barrel of the Virtus and am concerned the Spear LT will have the same shortfalls of the legacy MCX due to it’s lighter barrel profile.
