The tractor operates well in low gear or at low drive speeds. However, when in middle range selector, the engine really bogs down when the forward pedal is fully depressed.

The problem gets worse the longer the tractor runs and can eventually deteriorate to the point it will not lift an implement. When I clean the hydraulic filter/screen and change the fluid, the problem disappears for a while but returns after about 50 hours. What is the true source of the problem?
