I just acquired a 1902 12 gauge Ithaca Hammerless Crass Double barrel shotgun s 1 2 Serial 76509 that uses NITRO POWDER STEEL shells. I was wondering if anyone has or knows about this type of weapon and the shells used for it. The initial sequence of numbers for the Solid Rib was 70000 to 79999. Skeet Model numbers were 80000 - 89999, and the Trap Model numbers were 88000 to 89000. The special sequences for the Solid Rib were abandoned by 1949 when they were included in the General pump listing.
