I was already aware that several US made AKM receivers were of 4140 grade steel and I was fully expecting the same from PTR.All the others you mention are built on parts kits and receivers of dubious quality, and should be avoided, IMO. An option that splits the difference between the PTR-91 and a real HK-91 would be an older Springfield SAR-3 or SAR-8. Years ago I purchased a HK91 clone that was built with a SW receiver, & mint POF parts. It was an excellent gun but it was $900. They import tons of Romanian AK's built in Romania & install the required US parts & they seem to be fine. Some have canted sites, but that's the fault of the Romanians who built the gun.

The Century CETME is an after-attempt to evolve the design of the original CETME (the one the G3 was actually based on) to something similar to the G3. So in essense, the Century CETME is a mediocre copy and amalgomation of the original CETME and the HK91. Nothing wrong with that. And a lot of them are really nice guns.
