Nothing will happen. It's a Virginia law. Get it inspected when you get back to VA but as long as you don't get pulled over it's nothing to worry about. I've never heard of anyone getting pulled over for just a sticker. I once let my car sticker go six months so it would sync up with my truck and could do them both at once.
