I have a 2018 Kia that started making a tapping noise about 1 month ago (no engine light, very low noise) before actually starting to shake and not accelerate. I’ve done oil changes regularly & just did a tune up. The check engine light goes from blinking to solid once I ran it, (stoped running it).So it starts shaking with misfires, it should have had some kind of pending code. It ran GREAT for the first week or so then we noticed that it was idling rough in gear with the A\C on. I just performed a test on my own Kia Soul, (full spec's in my signature line) and here's what I found. (I have my Scan Gauge II, set to display RPM's in real time) At a cold start, my idling RPM was at 1300. After a brief warm up, that dropped to ~1000 RPM. Putting the AT in Drive, resulted in a drop to ~790 RPM.
