2017 Diesel SCR problems. I have a 2017 Cruze Diesel that I purchased new in sept, 2017 and have 20800 miles on it. The car has been back to the dealer 4 times with the same problem and in fact it is there right now and has been there since Dec 18, 2018. They replaced sensors #1 and #2 they ran it through several regents cycles and still no luck.I have a 2014 Cruze LT, and overheated a few days ago. No visible leaks, no visible damage, and my car was completely wiped of coolant (was sitting at a good level prior to overheating). Replaced a couple of hoses (coolant inlet and another one attached to the coolant reservoir), and refilled my coolant. This oil pump pick up seal is a common failure point on all 2.0 VM Motori diesel engines. Including the RPO LUZ engine in our 2014-15 Cruze CTDs. The seal is a very inexpensive part. But requires labor time to replace as the oil pan must be dropped. There is very little to no advanced warning of this seal’s failure.But if its a rattle you're hearing, my guess would be it's related to valve lash adjusters, timing chain, or oil pump chain.
