Scatter nades can kill quicker to proc Devour in a pinch, but Vortex lasts longer and keeps the debuff up longer. Ordanance mods only affect the base Granade regen not when using the handheld supernova. Grenade regen is rando upon using the handheld nova. Just do any amount of damage with the handheld nova. You must use the handheld nova to get the grenade regen. Using a regular uncharged nova will not grant back any energy.

Contraverse Hold is another pretty good option, if you want to focus in grenades. Not my favorite personally, but there's no denying its effectiveness.
