Save. Mary Phyllis was and is in Massachusetts. Mary Eileen and brothers are safe and were on St. John after Irma. Haven't heard since. I believe they are still on island. They lost Treehouse. Their home lost partial roof. I haven't heard since Maria. 2.I think it is about 90 miles long. You can go all week and never loose sight of land but sail for 3-4 hours a day and spend the morning or afternoon at a different mooring on a different island. With the USVI there are 3 main islands. I am honestly a bit shocked this happened at the Westin and early in the evening (9:45pm).Rents on places at the moment are about $1,200-$1,800 for a one bedroom. Electric is about $100 if you don't have A/C and are very frugal about it. If you have A/C, and run it at night, you can expect to pay closer to $200. In general, the long term rentals are no where as nice as the short term rentals.

We go to St John at least twice per year and stay in the Bordeaux Mtn or Coral Bay areas. Lots of breeze there to keep bugs off, but still a lot of mosquitoes and no-see ums. We took a spray this year called Sawyers Insect Repellant with 20% picaridin and had fewer bites. I think the DEET only works well for mosquitoes.

Our costs, villa $2600 jeep $900 flights $550 & food, gas, ground transfer and gifts $1000. Also $600 for dog sitters. We bring frozen proteins in back pack cooler and cook in most nights. For a total of $6000. Report inappropriate content.

I appreciate when rental owners and resorts include drone footage on their sites.
