I remember there being coordinators in previous Madden games, and sometimes after a player retired you might see them pop up looking for a coaching/coordinator job. I had Jeff Saturday as my Head Coach, Peyton Manning as my offensive coordinator and Ray Lewis as my defensive coordinator in I think Madden 11.

I was able to fix this problem by going into user teams under the options tab and creating a dummy user. Then I selected a new team owner, fired that teams offensive coordinator, then rehired him for my original team. Hope this makes sense.

Basically you need to FIRE your OC the week of the SB... then go to FILL spots on menu to [re]hire the OC (before advancing). Then you can hire (or re-hire) the OC, and you will not get stuck with the FATAL ERROR (you need to repeat ever year).
