Current favorite ( subject to change ) is my first FAL. A DSA built stg 58a rifle with the Type II receiver. I replaced the Steyr plastic buttstock with a Belgian walnut unit I modified for the Steyr buttpad.The FAL aint the Space Shuttle. You can pretty much get by with pouring bacon grease on it, and call it good. There is enough recoil and violently-moving parts that the grease/oil will get slung around until it coats enough of the pieces that need a coating. A bath once and a while may be advised.Ok, what I've seen is. * Austrian FAL mags have witness holes. * Israeli is stamped with the 80letters or letters in oval. * Argentine/Brazil have grey phosphate followers. * Belgian has blued followers. The pics of the above 3 different followers/floorplates have no witness holes and no israeli stamping.
