A minisplit can dehum pretty well but some climates need additional help to keep the conditioned space below 55%rh. I try to use a gravity drain whenever possible instead of the stupid pump/float setup they come with, if thats not possible then always go with an aftermarket pump, they are just better products than the one it comes with

The dehumidifier I have is a typical portable unit. I haven't been real happy with the unit and was planning to upgrade at some point to something nicer like those offered by SantaFe. That would run me around $1200. Just recently I was checking out ductless mini-splits to supply a/c to my shop as a luxury.
